If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or talk to me in “the real world” you will have already heard of the Charity gig I’ve been organising with Irish Autism Action.
I have been fund raising with the charity since the Summer as Autism is a cause close to my heart. My family and I know about the extra care and attention required by someone with Autism having experienced and witnessed it first hand over the past few years and I wanted to combine two causes I feel passionate about; raising awareness about Autism and raising awareness about unsigned music.
It is important to realise that just because someone is Autistic, does not mean they are “different” or “Abnormal” to me it means that have endearing qualities that you will not find in any one person for the rest of your life. It means they need a little extra help when it comes to certain things and yes, it means they need YOUR support.
Irish Autism work wonders for Autism by providing Diagnostic and Assessment services, homebased outreach services, supporting transitions into schools, training of school staff, counselling, research and development and so much more. They are there to support individuals and families that need it. You can find all necessary information HERE on the Irish Autism Action website.
So if you are free on October 11th please come along to Whelan’s and support this amazing cause. Tickets are €5 on the door and it kicks off at 8pm. Please share the Facebook Event Page.
