News: Electric Picnic Line-up; is it good enough?

The Electric Picnic line-up has just been announced, with more to follow no doubt. The general consensus on Twitter is “meh”, which does not bode well for the festival, given it’s golden moment to grasp the chance nab some fantastic ticket selling bands given the lack of Oxegen this summer. Regular festival goers will have already seen many of the acts such as Sigur Ros, Elbow and Bell X1 and the remainder of the acts are somewhat dull with Ed Sheeran getting a lot of attention already, and Christy Moore added into the mix, it is looking less like the wonderful alternative festival we were promised when it launched all those years ago. The acts are stale, overused and leave a lot to desire, with the exception of 80’s legends The Cure; it is safe to say that a lot of tickets will sell for what ever day they will be headlining. It is hoped that as time moves on bigger and more intriguing acts will be added to the bill, but for now there is a definite air of disappointed among festival fans. Tickets for the weekend €230, €99.50 for the day. It hardly seems worth it looking at the line-up below.
